Chopper Twirls Out of Control into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach
An aircraft soaring above a crowded southern California beach suddenly started spinning out of control, finally dropping height and smashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Recordings uploaded on the internet show the chopper commencing to spiral above the shoreline then descending near the border of the shore, where it becomes wedged between palms and a set of stairs near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders reported five people were rushed to the hospital involving two individuals who were in the chopper and were “extracted safely from the crash site” after the accident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Information on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
Planned Function
Officials indicated the chopper was connected to an annual “Cars with Copters” benefit occasion planned for the following day.
